Stainless steel cutting boards are easy and straightforward to clean in the dishwasher. They do not mold, unlike wooden boards, which can be susceptible to mold if not cleaned sufficiently or stored in a damp environment.

After use, cut marks will be visible on the cutting board, a normal wear and tear process that occurs on every cutting board, regardless of the material. The visible marks show that the material is softer than the knife blade, thus protecting it. Nevertheless, it is important to sharpen knives regularly to keep them sharp - because knives become a little dull with every use, regardless of the cutting board's material.
